Tandoori Chicken Tikka is my favorite starter for any party at home and gets done in no time. You can cook this even while the guests are arriving and is a perfect match with a little tangy, spicy mint and coriander chutney.

I add this on a paratha or a multigrain tortilla and gulp it down in no time as a wrap. Decorating the skewers is the best part and looks the best with all the colors that you get with bell peppers and onion. What makes it different from any other skewers is the tandoori spice mix. It is a unique flavor of spiciness, tangyness and savory coming together with overnight marination of the chicken making it super soft and very flavourful.

If you are vegetarian, you can replace chicken with paneer or even tofu.

Instructions
  1. Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and squeeze the lemon juice over them and sprinkle with a little salt.
  2. In a blender add the tandoori masala, yoghurt, ginger garlic paste and make into a smooth paste
  3. Marinate the chicken pieces in this marinate. And let it rest inside the fridge for 8 hours/overnight. If prepping this last minute, you can even marinate it for just 1 hour.
  4. After resting, add one piece of chicken with 1 cube of bell pepper and keep alternating it with bell pepper and onion in a skewer.
  5. Brush the skewer with very little oil and cook this in the microwave oven in the grill option for 15 mins for one side and another 15 mins on the other side.
  6. Serve this hot with Mint and Coriander Chutney and some sliced onion.
