Smoothies are a thing of the western world and must say something which makes today’s life pretty easy. It a great way for people taking their protein supplement to mix it in a smoothie and have it each morning. But if we talk to our parents or grandparents, we would get to know that they always had something similar to smoothie bowls with flattened rice or puffed rice. I remember my grandmom always having a bowl of flattened rice/poha with banana, mango and milk. I never liked that combination then, but now thanks to westernized lifestyle I love Smoothies (maybe because it is in style). Whatever be it, I am happy to have any breakfast which is healthy and keeps me full for a long time.

Ingredients to make 1 Strawberry-Banana-Chia Seeds Smoothie:

  • 1 big / 2 small banana
  • 5 – 6 strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon of Chia Seeds
  • Almond or Soy Milk (for Vegan option) / Regular Skimmed Milk (for non-vegan option)
  • 2 – 3 pitted dates (to substitute refined sugar)

Method: Blend everything together in a smoothie blender and your smoothie is ready.

Incase you are pressed for time in the morning, it is recommended to freeze your fruits in the beginning of the week in freezer lock bags and defrost them over the night in the fridge and just have it with milk or yoghurt in the morning.
