Smoothies are the easiest breakfast option around and yes it is so so easy to meal prep it on a weekend always. I buy bunch of fruits and veggies and divide them into small freezer friendly pouches for smoothies across the week/month. These freezer bags can be stored all the way upto 6 months! Woaaaahhh! Yes just 20 mins of work and you save so much of productive time in the morning for almost a month or more than that and yes you will thank me every morning for sure!
I generally make these smoothie pouches for 3 weeks with 2 to 3 smoothies a week (9 pouches for 3 weeks ready in under 10 mins). I bring them up to the fridge a night earlier to de-freeze the content in the bag – you will find your bananas changing its color and turning into a brownish/blackish mess but that’s fine to consume. It just gets slightly oxidised, doesn’t mean it is not suitable for consumption.
Today’s go-to breakfast of the day is this Green Goddess smoothie. Yes, green goddess because of all the super food that you add in it making it super filling!
Ingredients for 1 smoothie:
- Washed and clean spinach – 1 cup
- Banana – 1 large/ 2 small
- Low Fat Yoghurt – 1 cup
- Honey – 1 tablespoon
- Protein Powder – 2 tablespoon
- Spirulina (Optional)
Method: Blend everything together into a smooth mixture. If it becomes too thick, add some more yoghurt or almond/skimmed milk.
