I am not sure if this dish exists in real but I had both minced meat and chickpeas and thought of mixing the two together. I loved the outcome and decided to share it with you all. Chole Keema is an invention in the truest sense according to me. But it tasted really great with bread. I am sure it can be complimented with pulao or rice as well.
Don’t the best dishes happen when you least expect them? Have you ever had such experiences?
Chole Keema (Chickpeas in Minced Meat)
Blend onions, ginger and garlic in a food processor or chop finely.
Heat oil and then add onion, garlic and ginger paste and fry until golden brown.
Add mince meat and fry until brown.
Add all spices on low flame and cook for 5 minutes then add chick peas and mix
Cook on low-medium heat for 20-30 minutes or longer. The longer you cook it, the better it tastes. You may need to add a little water if the meat begins to dry out.
Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves
Serve it with rotis or naan. I had mine with Turkish Bread.
